Antique M. Melachrino & Co. hinged metal cigarette tin from Cairo, Egypt, originally made to hold 100 Egyptian cigarettes, accompanied by a vintage Cleopatra King Size Egyptian cigarette pack. The tin features striking red-and-gold lithographed advertising on the interior lid with ornate crests, Cairo/Egypt branding, and beautiful period typography. Exterior retains its original advertising graphics with substantial authentic age, oxidation, fading, scratches, and patina. The Cleopatra pack adds wonderful Egyptian graphics, including Arabic lettering and a pharaoh motif. A striking pair for a tobacco advertising, Egyptian revival, gentleman’s study, or curiosity-cabinet collection.
