Beautiful pair of genuine Australian 15ct gold cufflinks by G & E Rodd of Melbourne, marked APEX and 15ct. These date from the firm’s APEX period (used from the mid-1920s until they became a public company in 1948 and switched to the Rodd mark). George Rodd started the workshop in 1919; his brother Ernest joined in 1922, and by the late 1930s they were Australia’s leading jewellery manufacturers. They produced quality cufflinks, jewellery, and later silverware and cutlery. Octagonal faces with attractive engraved foliate/scroll and linear decoration, classic chain-and-ball/dumbbell fittings. Good wearable vintage condition with the expected light surface wear of 80–100-year-old gold. Perfect for a collector of Australian-made jewellery or anyone who wants a pair of solid 15ct cufflinks with real history. Stamped APEX / 15ct on the reverse of each. Happy to answer questions.
