Striking vintage 1980s Liz Claiborne statement brooch, signed LC on the reverse. This is an especially elaborate example of late-1980s designer costume jewelry, constructed as a large dimensional floral burst with dramatically curled ribbon-like petals. The entire face is densely embellished with clear faceted rhinestones in multiple sizes, including a prominent central stone and smaller accent stones extending toward the outer edges. The openwork construction gives the brooch considerable depth rather than the flat profile found on many rhinestone pins. Fine beaded detailing along the curved metalwork further emphasizes the dimensional design. Finished in silver-tone metal with a secure pin-back closure.
