The leather sits in the middle — soft and tanned, not smoky or medicinal — with frankincense pulling everything darker. Then cistus and vanilla absolute close it plush and resinous. Fans put it next to the Van Cleef & Arpels Collection Extraordinaire release it shares a name with. It projects, it lasts, and despite the plum it never reads as a fruity fragrance. Retails $40.
