Elaborate Continental-style gilt bronze and black marble figural mantel clock fitted with a German Franz Hermle movement, executed in an ornate Neo-Baroque/Rococo Revival style. Features a richly cast dial with individual white enamel Roman numeral cartouches, pierced hands, twin winding apertures, scrolling foliage, and floral ornament. Flanked by two sculptural putti and crowned with opposing eagle heads beneath a black-and-white veined marble urn finial. The black marble platform rests above an intricately decorated gilt base with drapery, foliage, crossed trophies, and paw feet. Includes winding key. Chime mechanism is working; clock is not currently keeping time and may require service/adjustment. Shows age-related rubbing, oxidation, discoloration, and surface wear. Marble has natural veining and minor wear. Measures 24”H x 13”W x 7.5”D.
