A truly striking antique art glass vase featuring a beautiful graduated palette of soft pink, blue and creamy opaline glass. This substantial vase measures approximately 11” tall × 5” wide and features an elaborate hand-worked ruffled rim, bulbous body, and delicate hand-painted/enamel floral decoration accented with gilt detailing. The construction, decoration and styling are consistent with late 19th to early 20th century European/Bohemian art glass. The piece is unsigned, so no specific glasshouse or maker is being attributed. The pale glass displays a strong yellow-green fluorescence under 365nm UV light. The reaction is significantly weaker under 395nm; therefore, this piece is described simply as UV reactive and is not being represented as uranium glass.
