vintage silver-plated silent butler (also commonly called a crumb catcher or table sweeper) made in Italy.The abbreviation "EL" stamped on the piece stands for Eisenberg-Lozano. Founded in New York in 1953 by Arthur Eisenberg and Neal Lozano, the company specialized in importing fine European flatware and silver-plated holloware to the United States. They frequently partnered with Italian silver manufacturers, most notably De Uberti (a trademark used by artisan Giuliano Bossi), to produce elegantly designed table accessories throughout the mid-to-late 20th century.
