Product Details

19th-century tea waste bowl, historically also called a slop bowl, decorated in rich mulberry flow black transferware with a Chinoiserie landscape of pagodas, figures, trees and distant architecture. Measures approximately 3½” tall x 5½” diameter and is a much less commonly encountered tea-table form than cups or saucers. This example is unmarked but came from the same collection as the registered-design handleless tea cup and closely matches the group in palette and decoration. Shows expected antique crazing and age-related wear consistent with its c.1842–1883 dating.
