An unusual Rainbow Sugar Amethyst Formation from the Los Catalanes Gemological District of Artigas, Uruguay, featuring densely sparkling microcrystalline quartz over muted purple amethyst and a beautifully layered green chalcedony-rich rind. Mounted vertically on a custom display base, this slender specimen rises approximately 4 inches tall while weighing only 77 grams. The principal display face is almost completely covered with extraordinarily fine druzy crystallization. Thousands of minute quartz terminations create the distinctive sugar-like texture, producing intense silver, lavender, smoky gray, and warm champagne reflections as the specimen moves beneath directional light. Rather than displaying the larger pointed crystals associated with conventional Uruguayan geodes, this formation presents a compact microcrystalline surface with remarkable visual density.
