A matched pair of untreated tsavorite garnet crystals, straight from the East African deposits that produce the world's only commercial source of this gem. Tsavorite is a chrome/vanadium-colored grossular garnet — rarer in the ground than emerald, and prized for a green that needs no oil, no filling, and no heat. What you see is what nature made. Both pieces show the classic frosted, etched crystal skin of tsavorite rough, with bright green transmission visible through the thinner edges when backlit. Medium to medium-dark green body color that should open up considerably once the frosted skin is removed and the material is windowed.
