Unique vintage advertising needle book from the Ziegler Company Funeral Service of Peoria, Illinois. This unusual piece of funeral home advertising combines beautiful period graphics with a functional sewing needle book and would make a fantastic addition to an advertising, sewing notions, funeral/mortuary, or Peoria-area collection. The front features a colorful “American Girl” portrait with Ziegler Company Funeral Service advertising and the original Peoria, Illinois address and Telephone 5712. The reverse features a portrait of proprietor Chas. W. Oleary and notes the business was established in 1864. Inside, the fold-out advertising piece reads “Over 64 Years of Service” and retains its colorful Gold Eye Sharps needle packet along with the scenic illustrated panel. Opening the interior reveals the original black paper needle holders with sewing needles still intact. Age-related discoloration, spotting, creasing, edge wear and other signs of age/use, as shown in the photos.
