This piece was created by my friend Jess Lelong, a London-based jewelry designer. Jess and his father Jean run Lelong Designs, a family business that began in Paris in the 1950s — Jean started out making earrings for theatre performers, and Jess joined as an apprentice in 1982. Today Jess carries on the work himself. Every piece is handcrafted and brand new. Jess works with genuine vintage French stampings (pressed from original steel dies dating back to the 1890s–1930s), along with gemstones, Czechoslovakian glass, Galalith, resin, and acrylic. Pieces are either silver plated or made in demi-rouge, a brass and copper alloy. Many are finished with traditional fired glass enameling and set with semi-precious stones or diamante crystals. I’m proud to offer his work in my show — each piece is one of a kind, made in his London workshop.
