Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) high-standard open compote bowl manufactured by McKee Brothers in 1894. This piece features the iconic "Swirl & Ball" pattern (originally cataloged by McKee as the "Ray" pattern). It includes a distinct beaded band along the upper portion of the bowl, transitioning down into tight diagonal swirl ribbing and sitting on a heavy pedestal foot with a clear hexagonal mold pattern underneath. ✨ SPECIAL FEATURE: This is a clear glass manganese "glower"! When exposed to a UV light source (ideally 365nm), the underlying manganese formulation fluoresces into a vibrant, bright neon green glow. CONDITION DETAILS: - Absolutely NO chips, cracks, or fleabites anywhere on the bowl, rim, or pedestal base. - Shows a few minor surface scratches on the interior bottom and sides, which is fully consistent with its 130+ years of age and utility. - Structurally excellent, bright clear glass under natural lighting.
