Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible authentic vintage 1/4 lb covered butter dish in the iconic Desert Rose pattern by Franciscan.This specific piece is an early American-made heritage item featuring the desirable circular black backstamp on the base: "FRANCISCAN MADE IN CALIFORNIA U.S.A. HAND DECORATED GLADDING, McBEAN & CO. OVEN-SAFE". This specific maker's mark dates this exact piece precisely between 1953 and 1958, manufactured at the original Los Angeles plant. It also features the authentic factory incised mold mark W81B underneath the base. Some discoloration on the inside where the butter sits. Otherwise in great condition.
