Beautiful antique garnet brooch, star shaped with rose cut pear and round stones, prong set, very good condition, now it is used/pre-owned, and I suspect it has had a pin stem/clasp replacement long ago...and possibly had a pendant loop which was removed?, still a very wearable wonderful and sturdy piece..I am not sure of the metal, possibly low grade silver or gold filled?, it isn't marked, and does not test as sterling silver...you can see some remnants of gold color it had at one time...measures 1 1/2".
