Antique glazed porcelain line insulator embossed COOK on the crown made by the Cook Porcelain Insulator Company of Byesville Ohio which produced insulators only from about 1924 to the early 1930s making this a nearly one hundred year old piece from a short lived American maker. The insulator has a rich deep chocolate brown to near black glossy glaze with beautiful swirled mottled tones and a threaded pinhole for mounting on a utility pole pin. A wonderful primitive and industrial collectible that looks fantastic as rustic farmhouse decor a bookend a paperweight or a small succulent and air plant planter. A great piece for insulator collectors and lovers of antique telephone and power line history. Shows honest age with normal manufacturing glaze variation.
