as shown vintage condition, may contain markings The Prisoner of Zenda is a classic swashbuckling adventure novel filled with political intrigue, romance, and secret identities. Rudolf Rassendyll, a wealthy English gentleman, travels to the fictional Central European kingdom of Ruritania for the coronation of its new king, Rudolf V. On the eve of the coronation, the King is drugged and kidnapped by his treacherous half-brother, Duke Michael, who wants the throne for himself. Because Rassendyll looks exactly like the missing King, loyal royalists convince him to temporarily impersonate the monarch at the coronation to prevent a coup. Rassendyll must successfully play the part of the King without blowing his cover, handle a brewing romance with the beautiful Princess Flavia, and launch a daring rescue mission to save the real king from the Castle of Zenda.
