The conversation piece your mantel has been waiting for, and she brought her own entourage. Lladro model 4510, Girl with Umbrella and Geese, sculpted by Fulgencio Garcia, produced 1969 to 1993 and long retired. A hooded girl in Lladro's soft blue and grey palette shelters under her parasol while five geese gather at her feet like old friends. The umbrella lifts out of her hands, and its matte unglazed finish plays against the glazed figure in a contrast you only get from Lladro. Genuine blue backstamp and the original gold foil tag still on the base. She came from the estate of a woman who lived to 100 and collected with a remarkably consistent eye: soft neutral palettes, sculptural quality, nothing loud. Pieces from a collection this well kept do not come around often. Retail was $245 at retirement. From a smoke-free home. Carefully packed. Questions welcome.
