Beautiful Japanese stacking box featuring a deep black and burgundy lacquer-style finish with delicate gold and silver grasses, wheat-like botanical designs, and iridescent mother-of-pearl style butterfly inlay accents. The box is made of plastic with a glossy lacquered appearance and consists of two stacking compartments with a fitted lid. The underside retains its original Made in Japan label. Measures approximately 7-3/4" long × 7-5/8" wide × 4-7/8" high when stacked. A beautiful decorative piece that can be used as a bento-style serving box, storage box, or displayed as Japanese décor. Pre-owned condition with some light surface wear and scratching, particularly on the top/lid, consistent with age and use. No major damage noted.
