Product Details

Geo. Z. Lefton Company was established in Chicago in 1941 by George Zoltan Lefton, operating as a major importer of fine Japanese ceramics and porcelain giftware. The company became renowned for its extensive variety of decorative items, figurines, and table accessories that appealed to mid-century American households. Porcelain egg-shaped boxes and trinket containers were particularly popular during the post-war period, often utilized for holding small keepsakes or serving as decorative Easter displays. These pieces typically featured delicate hand-painted or decal-applied floral arrangements, enhanced by subtle gilded highlights along the rims and edges. The collaboration with overseas manufacturers allowed Lefton to produce elegant, accessible luxury items that remain collectable today. As made, with intact bubbles that can be felt on intrrior surface. No crazing, minimal wear to gilt trim. 5.5”, mis-century origin.
