antique Edwardian studio portrait photograph dating to circa 1910–1916. Captured by the prominent Kansas historical photographer Cornelius F. Squires inside his Lawrence, Kansas studio. The piece features a beautiful young woman with a classic textured bouffant hairstyle wearing an elegant white lace-trimmed blouse. It comes housed inside its original, heavily alligator-textured brown presentation folder, which prominently features a brilliant gold embossed studio mark reading 'Con. F. Squires, Lawrence, Kansas' on the lower left face. Outstanding condition for its 110+ year age, showcasing rich sepia tones and pristine contrast. Squires' historical works are heavily preserved within the permanent collections at the University of Kansas. An exceptional piece of institutional Kansas history and early American vernacular photography.
