This beautiful 19th-century romantic-era plate is an authentic example of early Victorian English transferware. The central vignette displays the highly sought-after "Venus" scene featuring strolling figures alongside a pair of swans on a lake, framed by an ornate classical urn and distant castle architectures. The outer rim is adorned with a deeply detailed, scrolling foliage and geometric lattice border pattern. The reverse side features the classic stamped "Venus" banner pattern mark and the "Pearl Stone Ware P.W. & Co." manufacturer backstamp. Staining and Crazing (see photos)
