Vintage Cabochon Brooch signed Elaine maker Marena -- Is it a Mystery? This beautiful vintage studded brooch by Marena of Germany. Has straight pin brooch back securely mounted with a Roll-Over, and a bale to be used as a necklace. It measures 2" X 1" "BUT," you say "It is signed by Elaine," Yes, that is how we know it is by Marena What about Elaine Coyne? Nope, the signatures don't match however past auctions of Marena's pieces have suggested that Elaine may have worked for Marena since Elaine appears on some of Marena's pieces in exactly the way we see here. If you enjoy a good mystery, set out on your own search and find this elusive Elaine er' ah' Marena in West Germany. In the meantime, enjoy this Marena signed Elaine piece. This Marena brooch signed Elaine is set with an amber colored oval at center. Small amber colored beads are located around the piece with 6 AB stones placed around. Between the beads and AB stones. The metal is gold-toned but could be 18kt gold plated (I am not a jeweler and while Marena did use 18kt golds plate on her pieces, I cannot be sure she did on this one.) Flowing from the piece gold toned chain dangles. The final question then is the amber real? I cannot verify this. The amber colored beads are not they are glass seed beads.
