Charming hand-carved wooden comfort bird with a beautifully smooth, rounded shape designed to rest comfortably in the hand. Features a long tapered tail, tiny carved beak, inset glossy black eyes, warm natural wood grain and a softly waxed or oiled appearance. Comfort birds are traditionally held like worry stones and given as symbols of care, encouragement, healing or remembrance. This one has wonderful individual character and displays beautifully as a small piece of folk art. Wood species and maker are unknown.
