Original No. 3 issue of The Communist International, the monthly organ of the Executive Committee of the Communist International (Comintern), dating to 1924. Edited jointly by G. Zinoviev and Karl Radek, this English-language periodical contains contemporary Communist political writings concerning the international revolutionary movement, including discussion of Germany and an address “To the Congress of the German Communist Party.” It also contains period advertisements for Communist publications and organizations in Britain, South Africa, Canada, Australia, and the United States. An uncommon piece of early Soviet/Comintern political ephemera from the post-Russian Revolution era, retaining its striking original illustrated “Workers of the World Unite!” wrapper. The title page notes that the journal appeared simultaneously in English, Russian, French, and German. Condition: Original paper wrappers show substantial age-related wear, including edge and corner losses, tears, creasing, chipping, discoloration, and general handling wear. “1924” is handwritten on the front cover. Spine and binding show wear, with staples visible and some pages/cover areas appearing fragile. An old handwritten receipt/account slip dated 1956 is present inside.
