Product Details

Beautiful antique hand-painted porcelain brooch featuring white dogwood-style blossoms, green foliage and rust-colored accents against a soft celadon-green background. The large irregular oval porcelain plaque is secured by individual prongs in a gold-tone metal setting with a solid backing. Its exceptionally long pin stem extends beyond the brooch and fastens with an early open C-style catch—the antique construction collectors often call a “murder pin.” Believed to date to approximately 1900–1925. • Hand-painted glazed porcelain • Approximately 2¾” tall by 2” wide • Extended pin stem with open C-style catch • Unsigned Good antique condition with age-related surface wear, finish variation and discoloration. Please review all photographs closely for the condition of the porcelain, painted decoration, setting and pin mechanism. Pictures are part of the description.
