Notes: Severus II was a Roman emperor, formally Flavius Valerius Severus, who reigned briefly in 306-307 AD. He was part of the Tetrarchy, a system of imperial rule where two emperors (Augusti) shared power with two junior emperors (Caesars). Severus II was appointed as Caesar, then later Augustus, but his reign was short and marred by civil war against Maxentius, a usurper. Severus II's army ultimately joined Maxentius, and Severus II was captured and executed by Maxentius in September 307 AD.
