Beautiful antique Sheffield, England silver-plated gallery tray, measuring approximately 18” x 13”. The underside is marked W B & Co. within three shields along with “Made in Sheffield England.” Dating to approximately the late Victorian/Edwardian period, this substantial tray features a graceful shaped form, pierced gallery border, integrated handles, beaded edging and four ornate cast feet with shell and foliate detailing. The surface has been intentionally left unpolished, preserving its wonderfully moody patina with dark oxidation, iridescent toning, scratches and areas of plate wear acquired through generations of use. A gorgeous piece for styling a coffee table, dining table, hutch or ottoman and perfect layered with antique books, candles, ironstone or collected treasures. Antique condition with significant tarnish, oxidation, scratches and surface wear as shown. A wonderfully decorative piece of old Sheffield silver plate with incredible character.
