Product Details
Authentic fossilized Megalodon tooth (Otodus megalodon) dating from 23 to 3.6 million years ago (Early Miocene–Pliocene). These massive serrated triangular teeth belonged to one of the largest and most powerful sharks that ever lived, an apex predator that hunted large marine mammals (including whales), big fish, and other sharks in coastal and open-ocean waters worldwide. This well-preserved specimen measures 3.45 inches (87.6 mm) in length, 2.88 inches (73.2 mm) in width, and 0.75 inches (19.1 mm) in thickness, weighing 85.9 grams. Megalodon teeth rank among the largest of any shark, with some exceeding 7 inches. Their finely serrated edges were perfectly adapted for slicing through flesh and bone. The species went extinct around 3.6 million years ago, likely due to cooling oceans, declining prey, and increased competition. A striking piece of prehistoric marine history. Comes with 3D Case and Certificate of Authenticity.
