Product Details

Vintage January 1971 7th printing of the Scholastic softcover biographical book Abe Lincoln Gets His Chance. Written by prolific children's historical author Frances Cavanah and originally copyrighted in 1959 by arrangement with Rand McNally & Company. Released under Scholastic catalog number TX 375 with a 60¢ original cover price. The front cover showcases a gorgeous mid-century watercolor illustration of a young, tall Abraham Lincoln navigating a flatboat down the river alongside a grand steamship paddle wheeler. The back cover sets the scene of his humble beginnings on February 12, 1809, with a small log cabin illustration. The cover surfaces are very clean with bright colors, the spine edges are exceptionally crisp and uncreased, and the binding is perfectly secure. A highly collectible piece of early 1970s classroom history for vintage paperback book streams!
