Product Details

Beautiful early Victorian Staffordshire porcelaineous figure featuring a recumbent sheep with heavily applied textured fleece, molded green bocage with small flowers, and an ornate gilt rococo-style base. The piece is unmarked and dates approximately c.1835–1850. The modeling and decoration are consistent with Staffordshire makers of the period and show strong similarities to Samuel Alcock sheep figures; attribution is possible but not confirmed. A wonderful English country house, cottagecore, pastoral, or antique porcelain display piece with excellent visual presence. Condition: Antique condition with age-related wear, glaze variation, minor losses/wear to applied fleece and bocage, and gilt wear consistent with age. Please review photos closely. Origin: England Date: c.1835–1850 Material: Staffordshire porcelaineous ware Maker: Possibly Samuel Alcock / Staffordshire factory, unmarked
