Product Details

Beautiful matched opposing pair of early Victorian Staffordshire porcelaineous sheep figures, each modeled recumbent with finely textured fleece, applied green bocage, brown rocky/tree details, and ornate gilt rococo-style bases. Likely English, dating approximately c.1835–1850. The modeling and decoration are consistent with Staffordshire factories of the period and show similarities to Samuel Alcock animal figures, though the maker is unconfirmed. A wonderful true facing pair for an English country house mantel, cottagecore display, pastoral collection, or antique Staffordshire grouping. Condition: Antique condition with age-related wear, glaze variation, gilt wear, and minor losses/wear to applied fleece and bocage. Please review all photos closely. Origin: England Date: c.1835–1850 Material: Staffordshire porcelaineous ware Maker: Possibly Samuel Alcock / unmarked
