Product Details

Charming matched opposing pair of early Victorian Staffordshire porcelain deer figures, modeled as a recumbent stag and doe with delicate gilt chain-style decoration, molded mound bases, and applied floral/tree bocage. Likely English and dating approximately c.1835–1850, with strong similarities to Samuel Alcock animal figures of the period. Maker is unconfirmed. Condition: Significant antique damage and restoration, including major antler losses, bocage/branch losses, cracking, chips, gilt wear, and an old repair/restoration to one deer. Please review all photos carefully. Despite condition, they remain a very decorative true facing pair. Origin: England Date: c.1835–1850 Material: Staffordshire porcelain Maker: Possibly Samuel Alcock / unmarked
