The original interior paper label identifies NSN 1365-00-598-5207, “SMOKE POT, HC, 30 LB, ABC-M5,” DODIC K866, with a 46-lb shipping weight and lot number PB-84K022-017. Military documentation identifies this NSN as the M5 ground-type smoke pot and specifies one wooden box per smoke pot. This is an EMPTY wooden packing crate only and contains no smoke pot, chemicals, explosives or hazardous materials. Features original rough-sawn wood construction, military stenciled markings, original fasteners and substantial age/use character. Circa 1980s/Cold War era.
