The front retains its fantastic original mustard-yellow paper label with bold period typography and the registered Gauntlet trademark. Beautiful dovetailed/finger-jointed wood construction with loads of age, patina and character. An additional original “Gauntlet Brand Spices” paper label remains on the interior, describing the company’s guarantee of purity, strength and flavor. A fabulous early advertising piece that displays beautifully in a primitive, country store, farmhouse or general-store collection. Perfect for stacking, storage, or simply displaying with other old pantry and mercantile pieces 1880-1910 E.R.
