It is shaped like traditional hearth bellows, complete with faux handles at the top and a narrowed nozzle tip at the bottom. Unlike functional bellows used to blow air into a fire, this solid metal casting is hollowed out behind the front plate. It is meant to be mounted on a wall near a fireplace to store long hearth matches, kindling, or letters. These were popular decorative country farmhouse accents made of cast brass or aluminum throughout the mid-to-late 20th century. Age: Mid-to-Late 20th Century (1950s–1980s)
