Beautiful vintage heavy brass/copper-alloy decorative tray featuring an exceptionally detailed geometric and floral design. Intricate hand-tooled/chased decoration includes fine stippling, punched borders and raised floral medallions with contrasting silver-tone details. Measures approximately 10.5” x 10.5” and weighs approximately 2 lbs. Non-magnetic. No maker’s mark or stamp found. Shows age-related patina, oxidation, surface wear and scratches, especially on the reverse. Unpolished and sold with its original aged surface. Origin and exact age are unknown. Possibly Indian/Middle Eastern decorative metalwork. Silver-tone decoration has not been tested for silver content, so no claim is being made regarding precious-metal content. A really substantial, beautifully worked vintage piece.
