A wonderfully timeworn Hubley Manufacturing Co. No. 13 cast iron door knocker, featuring a dimensional woven flower basket overflowing with roses and colorful blooms and topped with a bow. Made in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, circa late 1920s–early 1930s. This example retains portions of its original hand-painted pink, blue, yellow, green and cream finish but has significant paint loss, particularly across the basket and lower portion. I love the honest, chippy surface—it gives this one exactly the kind of character that only decades of age can create. Please note the considerable original paint loss, surface wear, marks and patina throughout, all shown in photos. I have intentionally left this piece exactly as found—no repainting or restoration. A fabulous piece of early American decorative hardware for an old door, gallery wall, hardware collection, or simply displayed among your collected antiques.
