Oh, the patina on this one! 🖤 Antique Podmore, Walker & Co. Washington Vase relish dish, Staffordshire, England, dating to approximately 1840s–1850s. This beautiful early piece features a dramatic Flow Black / Flow Mulberry transfer with an Asian-inspired landscape, florals, architecture and urn motifs, finished with an incredible molded shell-and-flower handle. And then there is that surface—the good stuff. Heavy tea staining, extensive crazing, beautifully softened transfer and nearly 180 years of age have transformed the original white body into the warm, creamy coloration collectors love. This isn't pristine china pretending it hasn't lived a life. The marks of age are what make this one. Unmarked aside from a small blue factory/decorator's mark on the reverse. Attribution is based on the documented Washington Vase pattern and matching Podmore & Walker relish form. Please review photos for the wonderful timeworn surface and overall condition.
