Antique French Sarreguemines Jardinière Plate | c. 1890–1910 Ohhhh this pattern. 🖤 An absolutely beautiful antique French plate by Utzschneider & Cie (U&C), Sarreguemines, in their gorgeous Jardinière pattern. Measuring approximately 7” in diameter, this piece features an incredibly detailed black/charcoal floral transfer with a large botanical bouquet at center, scattered garden florals and that fabulous geometric border. The darker portions of the transfer have that soft, slightly flowing quality that gives early flow black its wonderfully moody look. Marked on the reverse JARDINIERE / U & C with floral decoration. Dating to approximately 1890–1910, and likely right around the turn of the century. This is the same Jardinière service as the French ravier offered separately — and they are SO good together. Beautiful age-related crazing and evidence of its 100+ years of life are visible throughout. Exactly the kind of antique surface and character I hunt for. Please review photos for condition.
