Antique Johnson Brothers England “The Pontracina” transferware dinner plate, dating approximately c. 1915–1925. Beautiful early English transferware with an ornate blue-gray border of checks, ribbons, swags, foliage and classical-style cartouches. Measures approximately 10” in diameter. This one has ALL the old character — wonderful overall crazing with beautifully developed staining and discoloration throughout the center that gives it that collected, timeworn look we love. CONDITION: There is a hairline extending through the plate and visible from both the front and back, as photographed. Heavy age-related crazing and staining throughout. Please review photos carefully for condition. Over 100 years old and wearing its history beautifully. A great display plate for a plate wall, cupboard, hutch or layered antique vignette.
