uch a good piece of vintage utilitarian Americana with all the character we love! Original Wire Brand Chilled Lead Shot cloth sack, originally made to hold 25 lbs. of No. 7½ lead shot and distributed by Taracorp Industries of Granite City, Illinois. Dating approximately to the 1980s, the bag has fantastic faded red, white and blue graphics including “Shot of Champions” and “Made in USA.” The original contents are long gone and the sack has been repurposed as primitive décor, stuffed with paper and tied at the top with red-and-white gingham ribbon. I especially love the natural aging, fading and fraying of the fabric—it gives this one exactly the collected, imperfect look that makes old utilitarian pieces so good. Please note that this is an original sack that once contained lead shot. It is being sold strictly as a decorative collectible and is not intended for food storage or use. Vintage, c. 1980s.
