Product Details

Oh, the patina on this one! Antique English Flow Blue by William Alsager Adderley & Co., in the Lucerne pattern, dating approximately 1886–1905 and most likely from the 1890s. A beautiful old Staffordshire plate with deep cobalt blue floral transfer decoration surrounding a wonderfully molded and scalloped rim. Measures approximately 9" in diameter. And then there is the age — this one absolutely wears its history. Heavy all-over crazing with gorgeous brown staining settled deep into the glaze, including several dramatic spiderwebbed areas that only time can create. The rim has multiple old/mature chips and nibbles, along with wear consistent with its 120+ years. Marked: LUCERNE / Trade Mark / England / W.A.A. & Co. This is not the plate for someone looking for pristine china. This is the plate for the collector who wants old, stained, crazed, imperfect English pottery with soul. 💙 Please review photos for the old rim chips, staining, crazing and overall antique condition.
