Beautiful old carved wooden cookie/pastry mold board featuring five round cavities with alternating pinwheel and sunburst rosette designs. Measures approximately 13” long × 2.25” wide × .6” thick. The wood has a dark brown applied stain/finish, with lighter natural wood visible along worn areas and raised portions of the carving. The deeply carved designs show individual irregularities and tool marks. This style of wooden mold is associated with traditional Springerle/speculaas and other molded cookies or pastries. Exact maker, country of origin, and age are unknown. Shows expected wear including scratches, nicks, finish wear and other imperfections.
