DC Detective Comics 31, 1937 Coverless, Offered is an original surviving copy/portion of Detective Comics #31, published by DC/National in 1939, only months after Batman's first appearance in Detective Comics #27. The original outer cover is not present. Condition issues include substantial age toning/browning, brittle paper, tears, heavy edge chipping, missing pieces, creasing, staining and other age-related deterioration. Several areas of the artwork and margins have paper loss. The Batman splash/title page shown in the photographs is present and remains highly recognizable with strong original color despite the condition. Completeness has not been professionally verified.
