The heart-shaped box was commissioned for a woman determined to forget the person she had loved. Its maker promised that every time the melody played, one painful memory would disappear. The box kept its promise…but it never said whose memory it would take. Each time the lid is opened, the woman in the cameo remembers a little more of her story, while the listener forgets something of their own.
