Spectacular piece of authentic 104-year-old American folk art! This hand-woven dark willow vase basket features a wonderful tapered design with side rings and a high top handle. Includes its original, incredibly detailed antique handwritten provenance tag identifying the maker as Charity Margaret Ludwig, woven during the winter of 1922 in Florida. Shows minor, honest break wear to a few wicker strands near the bottom rim consistent with its age

I get a thrill going from isle to isle in a thrift store, or driving from one yard sale to the next searching for a bit of nostalgia My heart races as I bid on a piece of something that triggers a childhood memory at an auction. I don’t necessarily look for something valuable but things that appeal to my hippie heart. My daughter, Nyla is a natural artist who has a very distinctive whimsical style. Her artwork is beautiful and it would complement many of the items I source. We even upcycle some pieces with her artwork making them beautiful and ready to be on display again.
