Beautiful matching pair of Vintage Mid Century 3D-effect narrative silhouette pictures featuring romantic 18th-century inspired courting scenes beneath original convex bubble glass. The 4" x 6" companion pieces depict an elegantly dressed gentleman and lady in two different narrative scenes. One shows the formal couple strolling together along a scenic waterfront park or estate, while the other captures a playful greeting near a stone village bridge. Their elaborate gowns, formal coats, breeches and period accessories create a wonderful old-world romantic appearance. The construction is especially interesting. The crisp black silhouettes are reverse-painted directly onto the inner surface of the curved convex bubble glass, while a separate softly colored scenic print is positioned behind them.
