Produced in 1968 by the well-known Kettlesprings Kilns in Alliance, Ohio, this piece features their official back stamp along with the production series code "1670-S". The back also includes an engraved historical summary titled "Historic Oconee - Land of Legend," detailing how the land was ceded by the Cherokee Indians in 1785 and named for a small tribe meaning "Place of Springs." The front features a highly detailed green-and-white transferware style design with a central map.
