Up for grabs is a rare, authentic pair of Mid-Century modern / Art Deco style hand-carved Italian alabaster bird bookends! These stylized parrots or doves are beautifully carved perched atop clean block bases, paired with attached circular support plates.These heavy stone pieces are perfectly designed to hold up your favorite books on a desk, bookshelf, mantle, or nightstand. The genuine alabaster stone has incredible natural translucency and very subtle, elegant veining that catches the light beautifully when styled in a room. CONDITION NOTE: Beautiful vintage condition overall, but please note that the bird on the right is missing the tip of its beak (as shown in the close-up photo). It still displays beautifully and holds books perfectly, but this minor flaw has been fully factored into the starting price!
